Airport Security
Could Sniffer Dogs be in demand as Airports go on alert? A recent article in the Daily Mirror suggests that airports are on high alert for al-Qaeda terrorists plotting to blow up aircraft utilising bombs that have been surgically inserted into humans. High alert activity could increase the use of explosive detection dogs and Sniffer dog teams at airports. Back to Body Bombs: Attempts are being made to implant explosives into the abdomens, buttocks and breasts of suicide bombers so they can pass undetected through new airport body scanners. With bombs surgically implanted into terrorists it is feared that the terrorists will then self inject a detonating chemical into themselves to cause an explosion. It is also unlikely that the current screening devices at UK airports will detect surgically implanted devices and it is envisaged that potential terrorists would be in possession of a doctor’s letter stating they have had surgery and need to carry a needle and syringe for medical reasons. This would be sufficient to clear security during check-in for a flight. Sniffer Dogs and High Profile Patrols RFA Security is the only non-Government client of VCS International
